About Dr. Michone

Alta Mesa Chiropractic is headed by Dr. Michone Ouellette, one of the most well respected, experienced and extensively trained chiropractors in the East Valley.

Dr. Michone began her practice in Beverly Hills, California in 1999, after graduating from the prestigious Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (now known as the Southern California University of Health Sciences). Although she had a thriving practice in Beverly Hills, Dr. Michone choose to move her practice to Mesa to be closer to family, to take advantage of living so near outdoor recreation area and among an active population, and to be part of a community where one doctor could make a difference.

In 2004, she opened Alta Mesa Chiropractic, and quickly established the practice as a leading place in the East Valley to heal and maintain health. Since she opened Alta Mesa Chiropractic, Dr. Michone has helped thousands of East Valley residents return to full health. “I believe that the nerve interference that occurs when the spinal cord is misaligned short-circuits the natural performance of your body,” she says. “Those misalignments do more than cause back or neck pain, they can cause any number of issues — heart pain, leg numbness, headaches. My goal is to relieve those misalignments so that your neural pathways operate freely.”

Dr. Michone treats her patients through a variety of methods, and tailors each treatment to fit the needs, concerns and medical issues of each individual patient. To treat her patients, Dr. Michone uses manual adjustments, spinal and extremity adjustments, the activator method and the Thompson Drop Table method.

As a Yoga, Tai-Chi and Pilates instructor for more than 4 years and as a competitive athlete herself, Dr. Michone’s understands the value exercise has in restoring and maintaining a person’s physical and mental health. As part of many treatment programs, Dr. Michone will draw upon her training and experience to prescribe specific weight-lifting exercises, aerobic exercises and stretching routines.

At the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, Dr. Michone graduated in the top 10 percent of her class, served as the school’s representative to the American Chiropractic Association and was president of the school’s chapter of the World Congress of Chiropractic Students. In that role, she traveled to Washington D.C. and lobbied Congress to pass laws to include chiropractic care in most insurance health plans.

In her free time, Dr. Michone enjoys spending time hiking with her three dogs – Buster, Kona and Stella, running, weightlifting, and teaching Yoga/Pilates/Tai-Chi classes at Fitness Works. She’s a member of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, and the Painted Mountain Chapter of BNI.
